Lavender Honey Cakes for the Full Flower Moon in Scorpio

An enchanted baking ritual for release, healing, and sweet transformation.

The Full Flower Moon arrives in Scorpio on May 12, 2025, cloaked in moody skies and emotional depth. This moon invites us to shed our fears, bloom into our softness, and stir intention into even the simplest acts—like baking.

For this magical moment, we’re crafting Lavender Honey Cakes—a sweet spell you can eat, baked under the moonlight and filled with release.

What Makes the Flower Moon Magical?

May’s Full Moon, known as the Flower Moon, symbolizes blooming, sensuality, and the full power of spring. In Scorpio, it becomes a moon of emotional healing, shadow work, and transformation—perfect for kitchen witchcraft.

The Ritual Recipe: Lavender Honey Cakes

You’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp dried culinary lavender

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions (with a touch of magic)

  1. Set the mood: Light a candle. Clean your space. Play something soft and stormy. Keep a journal or scrap paper close.

  2. Begin with release:
As you cream the butter, honey, and sugar, breathe deeply.
Whisper aloud or write down what emotional baggage you’re ready to release.

  3. Infuse your spell:
Add eggs, vanilla, and lavender, mixing gently.
Stir in your hopes, your healing, your magic. What sweetness do you want more of?

  4. Fold and bake:
    Mix in the dry ingredients.
Spoon batter into cupcake tins or mini loaf pans and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12–15 minutes, until golden and fragrant.

  5. Bless under the moon:
Once cooled, place a cake (or your whole tray!) by a window where moonlight can touch them.
Take a bite and sip tea while journaling your thoughts, dreams, or shadow work.

Journal Prompts for the Scorpio Moon

  • What old version of myself am I ready to let go of?

  • What beauty have I hidden that is ready to bloom?

  • Where do I need more softness, sweetness, or light?

Tea Pairing Suggestions

  • Rose & Chamomile (gentle emotional healing)

  • Hibiscus & Mint (for heart-opening)

  • Lavender Earl Grey (to enhance the cake’s magic)

May this ritual feed both your body and spirit. You are blooming, beloved. You are safe to let go.

The Spell for Soft Sugar Cookies

Yields 40–50 enchanting little treats

Whether you're preparing a sweet seasonal offering, stocking your cozy pantry, or just conjuring a batch of comfort, this sugar cookie recipe is pure kitchen magic. It's buttery, soft, and just the right amount of sweet—perfect for cutting into moons, stars, or your favorite spellbound shapes.

Gather Your Ingredients:

  • 3 sticks of unsalted butter (softened by the warmth of your hearth)

  • 1½ cups granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 4 tsp vanilla extract (measured with your heart)

  • 1 tsp almond or lemon extract (for a subtle spell of brightness)

  • 4½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

Spellwork Instructions:

  1. In the bowl of your stand mixer, cream together the softened butter and sugar on high speed until light and fluffy—about 2–3 minutes. This is where the sweetness begins to rise.

  2. Scrape down the sides of the bowl like a good kitchen witch.

  3. Add the eggs, vanilla, and extract. Mix on medium speed until fully combined. Scrape down once more to make sure nothing’s hiding in the corners.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt—your dry magic.

  5. With the mixer on low, add half of the dry mixture to the wet. Pause, scrape, and add the rest. The dough should be pliable, soft, and not too sticky. If it's clinging to your fingers like a needy familiar, sprinkle in a bit more flour.

  6. Once your dough is ready, divide it into two enchanted spheres, flatten slightly, and wrap in plastic. Chill in the fridge for at least 20 minutes, or up to 2–3 days. The longer it rests, the more the flavors deepen.

Baking Notes:
When ready, roll out on a floured surface and cut into your favorite shapes. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes—just until the edges barely begin to turn golden. Let cool on a wire rack.

Witch’s Tip: These cookies are delicious on their own but also serve as a perfect canvas for royal icing spells, sugared potions, or edible glitter dust.

Moonmilk Dream Tea

A witch’s brew for soft sleep, sacred stillness, and dream-dusted nights

Some evenings call for silence. Others call for something warm cupped in your hands, steam rising like a soft spell, and a moment just for you.

This Moonmilk Dream Tea is a nighttime ritual in a mug—a blend of gentle herbs chosen for their calming, dream-inviting magic. Sip it slowly. Breathe deeply. Let it guide you toward rest.

Why I Drink It

Sleep is sacred. It’s when our bodies heal, our minds unwind, and our spirits slip into deeper stories.

This tea isn’t just a drink—it’s a signal to your soul that it’s safe to rest.

I brew it most on quiet evenings: after a long bake, during a thunderstorm, or on nights when I want to drift off wrapped in peace and lavender-sweet thoughts.

Ingredients (Per Serving)

  • 1 tsp dried chamomile (peace, release, rest)

  • 1 tsp dried lavender (tranquility, dream magic)

  • ½ tsp lemon balm (relieves tension + calms the nervous system)

  • ¼ tsp passionflower or skullcap (optional, deeper sleep support)

  • 1 small piece of dried orange peel (gentle sweetness + digestive ease)

  • A pinch of cinnamon or drop of vanilla (comfort and grounding)

  • Raw honey to taste

  • Milk or plant milk (optional, for a creamy moonmilk version)

How to Brew It

  1. Add all herbs to a tea strainer or muslin bag

  2. Pour 8–10 oz of hot (but not boiling) water over the blend

  3. Cover and steep for 5–7 minutes (or longer for a stronger brew)

  4. Remove herbs, add honey and milk if desired, and stir clockwise as you whisper your intention

Night Ritual Suggestions

  • Light a white or lavender candle

  • Pull a single tarot or oracle card

  • Write a one-line intention in your journal:

“Tonight, I rest deeply. I welcome quiet and renewal.”

  • Sip slowly, in silence or with soft music

Why It Works

Each herb in this blend is selected not just for function, but for energy.
Lavender and chamomile are dream allies. Lemon balm is a balm to the heart. Cinnamon warms the edges of the soul. Together, they turn your kitchen into a nighttime altar.

Final Thoughts

May this tea hold you.
May your breath slow.
May your dreams arrive like petals on water—gentle, vivid, and all your own.

Sweet dreams, soft soul.

Midnight Maple Chocolate Loaf

A bake for grounding, indulgence, and moonlit comfort

Some nights call for tea and honey.
Others call for chocolate and silence.
For shadows and sweetness. For something rich and still and deeply, unapologetically cozy.

This is the loaf for those nights.

Baked with dark cocoa, sweetened with maple, and spiced ever so softly with cinnamon, this Midnight Maple Chocolate Loaf is meant to be shared with no one. (Unless you must.)

It’s for the quiet evenings when the moon is hidden, the kettle is warm, and your soul wants softness without apology.

Why I Bake This

This is a shadow season recipe. I make it on new moons, rainy nights, or evenings when I need to ground myself—not with greens and broths, but with comfort. With chocolate and maple and warmth that lingers after the last bite.

It’s part cake, part bread, part spell.

Ingredients (Whispered in the Dark)

  • ½ cup salted butter, softened

  • ½ cup maple syrup

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup cocoa powder (go dark if you can)

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • Optional: ½ cup chopped dark chocolate or walnuts

  • Optional: a dash of espresso powder to deepen the magic

The Ritual

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and line your loaf pan like preparing a sacred vessel.

  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter, maple syrup, and brown sugar until smooth and glowing. Breathe slowly. Let your body catch up to your hands.

  3. Add the eggs, vanilla, and sour cream. Stir gently. Whisper what you need more of this week.

  4. Sift in the flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Stir just until combined. Fold in chocolate or walnuts if using. Think of this as the final enchantment.

  5. Pour the batter into your loaf pan. Smooth the top and tap the pan once to settle it. Sprinkle with flaky salt or cacao nibs if desired.

  6. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with soft, fudgy crumbs. Let it rest before slicing. (Or don’t. I won't tell.)

Serving Suggestions

Serve warm or at room temp. Best enjoyed with:

  • A steaming mug of chai, oat milk, or deep red tea

  • Your journal and a soft blanket

  • A tarot card pulled and left by the slice

  • Candlelight and complete silence

Or share it, if you must. But know this loaf was made for you.

Cinnamon Moon Rolls

A spell for comfort, coziness, and cinnamon-sweet joy

Some bakes are born from rituals.
This one is born from a craving—not just for sweetness, but for softness. Warmth. A slow unraveling of the week. These cinnamon moon rolls are sticky, spiced, and just a little enchanted.

Perfect for rainy mornings, full moons, or when your spirit needs something soft.

Gather Your Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to conjure up a pan of cinnamon moon rolls. Measure with care—or with your heart.

For the Dough (the foundation):

  • ½ cup hot water

  • ¾ cup warm milk

  • ½ cup cold butter

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 4½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp instant yeast

For the Filling (the flavor spell):

  • 2½ sticks salted butter, softened

  • 2½ cups packed brown sugar

  • 5 tbsp cinnamon (or as much as your spirit tells you)

  • 2 tsp nutmeg

For the Frosting (the final blessing):

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 4 tbsp salted butter, softened

  • 3 cups powdered sugar

  • Vanilla (measured with your heart)

  • ¼ tsp salt

Now let’s begin!!!

The Dough (the foundation of the spell)

  • ½ cup hot water

  • ¾ cup warm milk

  • ½ cup cold butter

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 4½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp instant yeast

Kitchen spell: Add ingredients to a mixing bowl and let your dough hook knead for 5 minutes.
(For the best results, add the warm milk and hot water last—like sealing a spell with a flame.)

Place your dough in a greased non-stick bowl, cover it gently, and let it rise in a warm place for 2 hours. This is your moment to pause. Light a candle. Let the dough (and your breath) rise.

The Filling (the flavor of the spell)

  • 2½ sticks softened salted butter

  • 2½ cups packed brown sugar

  • 5 tbsp cinnamon (or measure with your heart)

  • 2 tsp nutmeg

Cream it all together into a soft, spiced paste. Set it aside—it’s going to work its magic soon.

Assembly (the sacred scroll)

Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle, about 18 x 15 inches.
Spread the filling all the way to the edges—don’t be shy.

Witchy tip: If the filling is stubborn, run a spatula under hot water, dry it off, and try again. It spreads smoother when warm—just like you.

Roll the dough up into a tight spiral, like a spell scroll.
Cut into 12 equal pieces and place them in a 9x13 pan (parchment-lined, if you like an easy lift later).

Cover the pan and let the rolls proof again for 1 hour.

The Bake

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes, until golden, fragrant, and irresistible.

The Frosting (the final blessing)

  • 4 oz softened cream cheese

  • 4 tbsp softened salted butter

  • 3 cups powdered sugar

  • A dash or 8 of vanilla (measure with your heart)

  • ¼ tsp salt

Whip it all together. Taste. Adjust. Trust your sweet tooth.

Optional ritual: Let the rolls rest slightly before frosting… unless you want that glorious, gooey melt. I won’t stop you.

Serve with…

A hot mug of something warm
A soft blanket
A journal and an intention
Or a good book and bad weather

Cinnamon Moon Rolls are best eaten warm, sticky-fingered, and slow.
Because sometimes, the most powerful spells are the ones that smell like butter, spice, and love.
